Mating Grizzly Bears Fight & Cuddle
A mating pair of grizzly bears in a raw and intense interaction. The boar, aggressive and possessive, kept the sow close, refusing to let her out of his sight after she had just separated from her cubs, a necessary step before returning to estrus, which takes about a week. Though not yet in heat, she signaled early acceptance by rolling onto her back in front of him. Despite this, the boar attacked her twice as she tried to evade him-violent encounters involving biting and force. Still, she stood her ground. The sequence ends in a rare moment of calm, with the boar pulling her close from behind in a display of rough affection.
